I started as a materials-science engineer and a published researcher. Six peer-reviewed papers train a specific habit: isolate one variable, measure the result, and reject the hypothesis that does not survive the measurement. Applied to code, that becomes methodical debugging, reproducible test cases and a refusal to guess at performance when it can be measured.
I am self-taught as a developer — I moved into web development through production work rather than formal IT courses. Seven years later that means I have shipped everything from a single landing page to a 300-page portfolio under active maintenance, and I have inherited a lot of other people's code. Taking over a neglected site, auditing its plugins, closing its vulnerabilities and refactoring it into something maintainable is a large and deliberate part of what I do.

I write the code myself. Layouts are hand-coded from Figma or PSD mockups — semantic HTML5, CSS3/SASS and vanilla JavaScript — and back ends are written in PHP. Page builders are used only when a client already runs one and wants to keep it.
As a review and acceleration layer, not a substitute for engineering. Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini help with code review at pull-request level, refactoring legacy templates, reproducing and isolating bugs, and security review of code and configuration. Everything is verified against documentation before it ships to production.

Yes — that is a large part of the work. It usually starts with an audit: plugin inventory, known vulnerabilities, CMS and dependency versions, page speed and Core Web Vitals. From there outdated or redundant plugins are removed, the attack surface is closed and the code base is refactored for maintainability.
Both. I am a Ukrainian citizen, eligible for EU temporary protection and open to employer-sponsored relocation within the EU, as well as to fully remote roles. Availability is immediate upon signing the employment contract.
Ukrainian and Russian at native level (C2), English at C1–C2 — I have delivered projects for clients in the UK and Saudi Arabia working asynchronously in English — and German at A2–B1.
